A love story with typical turns on the lines of Godavari.
Director Vamsi, who gave big hits like Sitara, Anveshana, Manchu Pallaki, Ladies Tailor and Avunu Valliddaru Ishtapaddaru, April Okati Vidudhala is almost running into bad time with successive failures like Donga Ramudu and Party, Koncham Touchlo Vunte Chebutanu and Anumanaspadam at the Box Office.
In order to regain his past glory, Vamsi has brought out another film silently with not so famous actors, again with his favourite Godavari and the boats in the backdrop. The entire film shooting was done in a low profile. The movement of the film is exactly in Vamsi’s style and the film is good to watch but the slow running of the flick may not suit the taste of the present generation audiences.
The film has Thottempudi Venu as the hero while the sensuous beauty Kamalini Mukherjee is the leading lady. As the title indicates, the lead pair take their respective roles and it is on the backdrop of the river Godavari.
The gorgeous Kamalinee Mukherjee has landed a juicy role in the movie as Gopika. In the movie she is a doctor. She runs a floating hospital on the river Godavari for the poor people. The boat toursthe entire coast of the river and serves the patients. The running of the hospital is being taken care of and funded by a NGO. Another guy Shyam (Kalyan), who has completed his MS in the US and heard about the floating hospital and reaches India to run a similar service near Srisailam. Shyam fell in love with Gopika at first sight. But the latter she refuses his marriage proposal as she has more future plannings.
At this juncture, Gopika accidentally meets Gopi (Venu) over phone, which was forgotten by her close friend. Soon Gopika comes to know from Gopi that her close friend committed suicide. Gopika’s friendship with Gopi continues over phone and they keep talking hours together. Soon they fall in love.
Their plans to meet each other fail due to some circumstances. Gopika’s mother (Jayalalitha) who believed that Gopika is talking to Shyam till then learns that it was not Shyam but Gopi. She wants to see Gopi. Unfortunately, Gopi, who was coming to meet Gopika, loses his memory after being attacked by some goons. Gopika saves him and treats him not knowing that he is Gopi and she names him Prabhu. Does Gopi regains memory? Who does Gopika marries at the end? Watch out!
Mouth Talk:
what people said who liked this movie:
The director’s vast experience, seniority is clearly visible on the screen in this film. He ran the story with utmost precision, with lots of twists. There are many scenes where the audiences sit on the edge of the seat, biting their nails, as to what would happen at that moment. The director’s ability throws a surprise at every moment as the expectations of the audiences keep going wrong at such typical scenes. Kamalini has no big role to play as a doctor and has failed to impress the audiences. Venu is in his usual style.
what people said who doesnt like this movie:
Though the director ran the story well with different twists and turns, he ignored some characters like the hero’s buddies who appeared on the screen for a major time in the first half. The entire group was totally ignored in the second half. Music by Chakri is average and most of the songs had no Novel tunes but reminded the old songs of Vamsi’s films. Dialogues by Padala Siva Subrahmanyam are too lenghty at times.
Final Touch:
Those who go to the theatre with a view to watch a film from a director like Vamsi would definitely satisfy with the film. Those who go to watch it for entertainment also will feel good to a certain extent. However, the lengthy dialogues, same old locations, similar sets all through the film would result in boredom to the audiences. As a whole, the film could be watched once because it is from a good director like Vamsi. However, it may not help either Kamalini or Venu to get a break in films.
Music Review:
Go Go Rye Rye… singers: Chakri/vamsi
A melody number with energetic beats, the song is based on the backdrop of Godavari and this has been sung by the duo of Chakri, Vamshi along with chorus. With a mix of folk instrumental beats, the song is dominated by vocals and the lyricist Rama Jogayya Sastry has penned understandable lyrics. This is more of a number that talks about oneness and affection and is a positive number.
Sundari… singers: Venu/Madhumitha
An interesting duet, the song has got a very interesting combination with competent vocals by artists Venu and Madhumitha. Lyricist Rama Jogayya Sastry showed his prowess in words by coming up with witty and fast paced lyrics and not missing the rhythm anywhere. Chakri had a melody tune for this and he used more of keyboards and Veena in this one. Madhumitha has got a distinct voice which is sensuous.
Nuvvakkadunte… singers: Chakri/Kousalya
This is the highlight song of the album with some exceptional music by Chakri and a pleasant melody tune. A romantic number that talks about the pleasures of separation, the duet has been sung by Chakri and Kousalya. Their chemistry has worked well for this number and Rama Jogayya Sastry has given simple but sensible lyrics. The pace of the song is slow and it has traces of the literary side of the lyricist.
Bala Godari… singers: Karthick/Vamsi/Kousalya
This is a fast number with a melody note and Chakri has taken the support of flute and other traditional instruments for this one. The energy of the song is not that great but the vocals by artists Karthik, Kousalya, Vamshi goes in tandem with the music. Rama Jogayya Sastry has penned the lyrics in an interesting manner. Overall, it is a bit dull for hearing.
Maavidaaku… singers: Vaasu/Geetha maduri
A foot tapping song with some upbeat vocals by Vasu and Geetha Madhuri has provided good energy to it. A very fast moving song, this has got traces of songs that we have heard before but Chakri has molded the notes very well and this might find its presence in marriages as the backdrop is wedding. The mix of traditional and western beats is another aspect to this. Rama Jogayya from his end synced well with the music and gave the words accordingly.
Final touch on the Music:
Overall, the album is for those who like melody and are used to the Chakri flavor. The songs are more of melody and though there are one or two of western beat based numbers. There is a touch of the Vamsi trademark in the songs and it is more for the matured audience and those who like the classical style of songs. Youth audience may find it tender but not very appealing though.
user Rating analysed from various sources is 2/5.

This movie is in the Vamsi's style. The fans of vamsi, will like this movie. Coming to others who ecspect entertainment they may not satisfied. Eventhough major comedians are there but the comedy scens are not attractive. Venu performance is as usual, in sentiment scenes he failed to get the audience. Kamalini also not did well. Music is nice but the photography is not well. This may not give break to any one. We can see one time only.
So far I seen Vamsi movies, this is one of the bored movie. He totally failed to attract and to entertain the audience. Movie is not good.
I saw number of Vamsi's movies which were very good actually(like sitara, avunu vallidharu ishtapadaaru),this movies will not be under that category, sure, bcz it does not have good story as well as bad comedy. This time vamsi dispointed all the fans.
yeah i have seen that movie last week. The songs were good. And the comedy is not so good. The entire movie moves around the Hero and Heroin. we can see this movie for 1 time.
